‘Bachelorette’ star Jed Wyatt calls for end to viewer threats, calls

“The Bachelorette” contestant Jed Wyatt says he and his family have been under attack from fans, angered over allegations that he had a serious girlfriend before he went onto the show.

The outcry has also affected the show’s “Bachelorette” star Hannah Brown — whose heart the Nashville singer-songwriter has been trying to win on the reality show — Wyatt said in an Instagram post Monday.

Wyatt wrote that the “actions” of some fans were affecting the “mental and physical health” of “myself, my family, the men on the show, and above all, Hannah.”

“It goes beyond what is said online. Threatening letters and phone calls have been sent to our homes,” he wrote. “My parents and sister are being verbally attacked in public. I beg you to remember what seems like a harmless action is damaging to real people.”

The allegations: ‘Bachelorette’ star Jed Wyatt was in a serious relationship during the show, his ex claims

Fellow musician Haley Stevens told People last month that she was in a serious relationship with Wyatt for four months before he left to film “The Bachelorette” in March. She said that Wyatt planned to return home to her after the show.

Since the revelations,  “Bachelorettte” fans have made their displeasure clear. Wyatt called for peace and understanding in the post.

Wyatt has emerged as a frontrunner for Brown’s final rose and has been to Scotland, Latvia and Amsterdam with her. Monday’s episode of “The Bachelorette” will be the hometown dates, when Brown brings her remaining men to their hometowns to get to know them better.

That’s Sevierville in East Tennessee for Wyatt.

Wyatt promised to one day give his side of the story.

“Until I am able to speak opening I can only ask for your patience and kindness,” he wrote.
