Donald Trump won’t deal with critical British ambassador Kim Darroch

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump said Monday that he will no longer deal with the British ambassador to the United States, who attacked him as “insecure” and “incompetent,” among other things.

“I do not know the Ambassador, but he is not liked or well thought of within the U.S.,” Trump said in a pair of midday tweets. “We will no longer deal with him.”

Over the weekend, The Daily Mail newspaper, citing leaked documents, reported that Ambassador Kim Darroch described Trump as “inept” and “uniquely dysfunctional.” He also said Trump’s presidency could “crash and burn” and “end in disgrace.”

In his tweets, Trump suggested that there may be a new British ambassador to the United States in any event – the United Kingdom is in the process of selecting a new prime minister to replace the soon-to-resign Theresa May.

Trump also took a dig at May in his tweets as he referenced his recent visit to the United Kingdom.

“While I thoroughly enjoyed the magnificent State Visit last month, it was the Queen who I was most impressed with!” Trump said.
