Patrick Mahomes shares details of Tom Brady AFC title conversation

Following the Patriots’ win over the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, Tom Brady paid Patrick Mahomes a visit at the Kansas City locker room as a sign of respect for the league’s most exciting young talent.

Mahomes joined NFL Live on Thursday ahead of the Pro Bowl and offered details about their conversation.

“It was such a great game with so many emotions where it was going back and forth in the end. I felt like that he just came up to me and was saying ‘good game’ and everything like that. He was in my place. He was young. He got to win the Super Bowl in his first year with you (Tedy Bruschi) and everybody. So, he understands that time — it flies by, so make sure you put in the work. I think he saw that I put in the work to be in those situations.”

Brady won the Super Bowl in his second year, and Mahomes – who like Brady didn’t start his rookie season –nearly had the Chiefs on that same stage in his first season as a starter.

The 23-year-old threw for 50 touchdowns and 5,097 yards during the regular season of his rookie season.
