The Pittsburgh Steelers will have to put their new backup quarterback to the test.

Starter Ben Roethlisberger sustained an elbow injury in Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks and was replaced by Mason Rudolph after halftime. He was listed as questionable to return.

Roethlisberger shook his right arm after a pass late in the second quarter and later left for the locker room. He completed 8 of 15 passes for 75 yards before exiting.

Rudolph, a third-round pick out of Oklahoma State in 2018, had not taken an NFL snap prior to Sunday. He won the backup job ahead of Joshua Dobbs, who was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
