Tweet by Oklahoma City mayor didn’t age well

It’s been an absolutely wild six days for the Oklahoma City Thunder and their fans.

First, they shockingly traded Paul George to the Los Angeles Clippers last Friday night.

Then Thursday night they shipped Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets for Chris Paul and some first-round picks.

Yup, that really did happen. Life comes at you fast, right?

It sure did for Oklahoma City’s mayor, David Holt, who tweeted on June 30 about how great it was to have Westbrook and George on the Thunder for what he thought would be a quiet free agency period for the team:

Holt had some fun with it after the Westbrook news hit Thursday night:

That was pretty good.

Holt then went on to sing the praises of Westbrook, who spent 11 years with the Thunder:

Westbrook will definitely be missed in OKC.
